IMT Resourcing Solutions
Network Delivery Engineer
IMT Resourcing Solutions City, London, UK
Job Description  Network Delivery Engineer Location: London - Hybrid Working Salary: Up to £40,000 Benefits: Share scheme, private healthcare, pension, 25 days' annual leave + bank holidays Our client, a leading London-based MSP, is hiring a Network Delivery Engineer to take ownership of the provisioning and successful delivery of customer network services. This role sits at the heart of the network service delivery process. You'll be responsible for ensuring new connectivity services are correctly provisioned, configured and activated, from initial order and port allocation through to service turn-up and handover. Much of the provisioning process is automated, so this isn't a role focused on manually configuring devices all day. Instead, you'll manage the provisioning workflow, complete the elements that require engineering input and investigate anything that fails or stalls. The goal is simple: make sure network services are delivered on time and work first time. What you'll do Manage the day-to-day provisioning and delivery of customer network services Take ownership of orders that fail or stall within the provisioning workflow and see them through to completion Prepare and configure customer network equipment using approved templates Allocate network ports and fibre panels, ensuring all changes are accurately recorded Provision datacentre services including cross-connect orders, patching and associated documentation Troubleshoot provisioning issues, identify root causes and resolve or escalate them appropriately Maintain accurate service, port reservation and decommissioning data to support automated provisioning Identify recurring provisioning failures and manual workarounds, helping drive permanent improvements Raise change requests for non-standard configurations and escalate complex network designs where required Support field engineers during customer service activation and network turn-up Provide clear updates to Service Delivery teams on the network status of customer orders and any actions required to progress them Communicate clearly with internal technical teams and customers throughout the delivery process You'll work closely with Network Engineering, Service Delivery, Service Desk, warehouse and field engineering teams, giving you exposure to the full lifecycle of delivering network connectivity services. What we're looking for Essential: Experience within network provisioning, network delivery, service delivery or technical support Ideally, experience within an ISP, telecoms, carrier or service provider environment Good understanding of networking fundamentals including VLANs and IP addressing Knowledge of Layer 2 Ethernet services, VLAN tagging and Q-in-Q Understanding of Layer 3 networking and resilience/failover protocols such as BGP and VRRP A methodical approach to managing technical workflows, queues and network data Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate provisioning issues through to root cause Clear communication skills when working across technical teams and with customers Desirable: Experience with network source-of-truth or workflow/provisioning platforms Exposure to enterprise or service provider networking equipment Knowledge of Layer 1 fibre networks and datacentre cross-connects CCNA, JNCIA or equivalent networking certification Don't have the certifications yet? That's not necessarily a barrier. Our client supports continued professional development and relevant networking certifications after joining. Why join? Take ownership of the provisioning and delivery of customer network services Work within a growing, engineering-led technology organisation Gain exposure across fibre, network provisioning and datacentre environments Work with modern network automation and provisioning processes Develop your knowledge across Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking No on-call rota Support for professional networking certifications Employee share scheme and company bonus Private healthcare, life assurance and income protection 25 days' annual leave, increasing with service, plus bank holidays Company pension and additional wellbeing benefits This would suit a Network Delivery Engineer, Network Provisioning Engineer or technically strong Network Support/Service Delivery professional who understands networking fundamentals and wants to take greater ownership of provisioning services from order through to activation. Apply now to play a key role in provisioning and delivering network services for a growing connectivity organisation.
