Job Overview:
The IT De-Installation Engineer is responsible for attending the Truro BS branch to carry out a full de-install of specified IT equipment across the Ground Floor and First Floor areas. The engineer will ensure all devices are safely removed, documented, and relocated to the designated onsite storage area in preparation for branch refurbishment works. The role requires strong attention to detail, safe handling of equipment, and adherence to site protocols.
Location: Truro
Daily Rate: £14.90/hr – PAYE, £19.34/hr – UMB
Key Responsibilities Onsite Attendance
- Attend the Truro BS branch at the scheduled time and report to the designated site contact.
- Follow all onsite safety, security, and access procedures.
Ground Floor De-InstallationRemove and prepare the following equipment:
- 1× Meet & Greet Desk IT setup
- 1× Quiet Room IT setup
- 1× Semi-Quiet Room IT setup
- 1× Admin Desk (behind counter)
- 1× ID Scanner
- 1× Customer Tablet
- 1× Network Printer (Meet & Greet area)
First Floor De-InstallationRemove and prepare the following equipment:
- 4× Quiet Rooms (Rooms 2, 3, 4 & 5)
Equipment Handling & Storage
- Ensure all IT kit is safely disconnected, labelled, and accounted for.
- Transport all reinstalled equipment to the designated storage location:
- Second Floor – Quiet Room
- Store equipment in an organised manner to support future re-installation or refurbishment processes.
- Maintain safe handling practices to avoid damage to devices or branch infrastructure.
Documentation & Reporting
- Record all de-installed items accurately, ensuring traceability.
- Report any issues, missing equipment, or unexpected findings to the project lead or site manager.
- Confirm completion of de-installation activities in line with project processes.
Key Requirements
- Experience in IT de-installation, device handling, or branch technology refresh projects.
- Ability to work independently and follow structured instructions.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional conduct when working in customer-facing environments.
