Are you a Process & Controls Engineer with strong experience in process optimisation, control systems specification, and safety analysis?

You will take ownership of reviewing existing product designs, delivering key upgrade programmes, and driving process improvements that enhance efficiency, stability, and overall performance.

In this role you will evaluate design proposals, prepare technical specifications, develop control system requirements, and maintain/improve software and control programming. You will also lead on risk assessments, process safety studies, and reliability investigations such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA and RCA.

This position suits a Process & Controls Engineer with experience in heat/mass balance calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, instrumentation selection, and procurement specification writing-someone who thrives in a technical environment with meaningful impact.

The Role

• Review and refine existing products to improve stability, efficiency, reliability, and economy.
• Deliver upgrade programmes and manage engineering change.
• Prepare procurement specifications for plant, equipment, instrumentation, and complete control system solutions.
• Develop functional requirements and support control software definition.
• Maintain and improve control programming.
• Lead and contribute to process safety and risk studies (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA).
• Conduct equipment reliability and failure studies (FMEA, RCA).

The Person

• Experienced in heat/mass balance calculations, PFDs, P&IDs.
• Skilled in preparing control system and plant procurement specifications.
