IT Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Warrington, Cheshire (hybrid – up to 3 days in the office, 2 from home)
In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering a wide range of infrastructure projects. You’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting both cloud and on-premise environments, working closely with teams across the business.
This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and working across multiple technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of technical delivery across a range of infrastructure projects
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable and aligned to business needs
- Act as a senior point of contact for infrastructure-related queries and escalations
- Contribute to the development of technical standards, processes and best practices
- Support ongoing improvements across the infrastructure estate
- Assist with troubleshooting complex issues and provide root cause analysis
Esseential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects in a mid-to-large scale environment
- Strong background across Microsoft infrastructure and hybrid environments
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
- Solid understanding of virtualisation technologies (eg VMware or Hyper-V)
- Experience with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Scripting and automation (eg PowerShell)
Desirbale Skills and Experience
- Experience working in a project-led or design & build environment
- Exposure to M365 and modern workplace technologies
- Experience supporting enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
