Senior Quantity Surveyor – Housing Groundworks

Manchester – 65,000 – 80,000 per annum + competitive benefits package

The Role

Due to continued growth, an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to support the commercial delivery of multiple residential groundworks schemes across the region. This is a key role within the commercial team, offering autonomy, progression, and involvement in large-scale housing developments from inception through to final account.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the full commercial lifecycle of housing groundworks projects

• Preparation, submission, and agreement of valuations and final accounts

• Cost control, forecasting, and reporting to senior management

• Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers

• Identifying and managing variations and commercial risks

• Supporting junior commercial staff where required

• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, site teams, and supply chain

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within housing groundworks or civil engineering

• Strong knowledge of residential infrastructure packages (roads, sewers, drainage, foundations)

• Excellent commercial and contractual awareness

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Confident communication and negotiation skills

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach

• Relevant construction or commercial qualification (or equivalent experience)
