Senior Visual Designer – JP Morgan – London – 6 months contract – Onsite – PAYE

We are seeking a Senior Visual Designer to join Chase UK, JP Morgan’s international consumer bank, on an initial 6 months contract in London where you will become part of a flat-structure organisation and sit within the Design & Customer Experience (DCE) Team to help shape the design of a multi-market website platform. For this role, we are looking for solution-oriented customer-focused individuals with a strong portfolio in demonstrating visual design fundamentals, UI, interaction, and accessibility.

You will play a key role in shaping Chase’s visual design language across web, balancing your expertise of user interface design – incorporating colour, iconography, typography, interaction and motion, with the strong technical understanding and collaboration to bring your vision to life.

What You’ll Do

• Work with designers, researchers, technologists, and business experts to ensure visual design aligns with brand, Design Systems, and product goals
• Partner with Creative and Design Directors to guide and evolve the product’s visual language and design strategy
• Develop mood boards, UI layouts, components, style guides, and other visual assets while ensuring effective implementation through engineering
• Lead visual design governance, provide guidance across the business, and identify opportunities to enhance digital experiences using analytics, insights, and user data
• Advocate for accessible, user-friendly designs while communicating visual direction clearly to stakeholders and teams

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience as a Senior/Lead Visual or UI Designer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating visual design fundamentals, UI, interaction, and accessibility
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of visual design fundamentals (colour, iconography, typography, structure, and visual hierarchy) and solid application of user interface (usability, comprehension, and accessibility). Examples of interaction design (aesthetics, animations, motion, and transitions).
• Experienced working with UX designers, engineers, content writers, and marketing teams to translate brand and strategy into web and digital experiences
• Skilled in creating visual design strategies, design systems, and proficient with tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and prototyping, with awareness of modern technologies
• Strong ability to present and communicate design solutions across roles and levels, fostering collaboration in dynamic, team-oriented environments
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in design, with flexibility, interpersonal skills, and passion for creating environments where teams can excel
