Portfolio

Portfolio () is a mobile app (iOS and Android) that makes it simple for anyone to become a property investor. Users can sign up, make a deposit, and buy shares in a hand-picked portfolio of rental properties across the UK. Once they ve invested, the app allows them to interact via video tours, surveys and news updates.

This is completely new to the UK market, and we have the ambition and resources to grow Portfolio into a household name Fintech product – doing for property investing what Freetrade has done for the stock market.

We ve already launched a beta version, and people have used the app to invest in over £9m of property in just a few months. Now we ve proved the concept, we re continuing to build out the team that will allow us to scale Portfolio into a mass market proposition.

Portfolio is a sister company of Property Hub – a company with a decade-plus track record of providing trusted information and services to property investors, with a team of 50+ across our offices in London and Manchester.

About the role

We re hiring a UI/UX designer to contribute best-in-class design insight to create a revamped look and experience for our iOS and Android apps. This role will report to the Head of Product.

Requirements:

Proven experience in driving design of best-in-class product launches at a startup/0 to 1 company. Able to showcase their portfolio of work and key product results.

Responsible for all design artefacts, as well as setting design principles/language for the product. Perform all functions of the product design lifecycle, including sketches, wireframes, concept designs, end-to-end user flows, interaction design, prototyping, documentation, accessibility checks and testing/design QA.

Brings creativity and innovative solutions to their design process. Executes beautiful, high quality and intuitive user experiences which customers are delighted by.

Able to balance excellent attention to detail with a birds-eye lens on overall user experience, and understanding/appreciating key constraints.

Team player and excellent communicator – collaborate with squad including product and engineering, challenge respectfully, and manage deliverables openly and honestly with your team. Can passionately present design concepts to key internal stakeholders and customers. Experience conducting customer/user research first-hand is a bonus.

Deeply familiar with native mobile design patterns on Android and iOS, as well as web and cross-platform.

Self driven and comfortable working in a lean team, bringing thought leadership for the design function.
