Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Packet Core Designer to join their team for a 3 month contract. You will be a Technical Design Authority for the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and the new 5G Dual Mode Core (5G DMC), realising the strategic architecture and strategy and translating that into a detailed design.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
The focus of the role will be to support the Packet Core team in achieving compliance to the UK’s Telecommunication Security Act (TSA)

1. Signalling Plane Security
2. Management Plane Security (Access Control/Identity Management/RBAC/JML/ISO27001)
3. Resilience, Backup & Restore design
4. Security Configuration/System Hardening
5. Security Event logging
6. Security Maintenance (security testing, vulnerability management and patching)
7. Systems – Packet Core (PCC-MM (AMF), PCC-SM (SMF), PCG (UPF), SGSN-MME, EPG, WMG), Remedy/Helix

Required Skills/Experience

1. Be able to cover all technical design aspects of the Packet Core nodes for the support of business solutions and MVNO operating models.
2. Be able to incorporate Consumer/Corporate MME, AMF SGW/PGW, SMF, UPF and ePDG gateway designs to support capacity and capability builds.
3. Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for Packet Core team.
4. Engaging with other members of the Packet Core teams to obtain network design and configuration information and consolidating it.
