Title: Magento developer
Location: North West
Salary: up to £50,000 + Package
Forsyth Barnes are looking for a Magento developer for a great company within the E-commerce space. Your main tasks will be to ensure that the last security patches are installed and that existing functionality continues to work properly. You will also be in charge of developing new modules and applying any required front-end changes.
Magento Developer Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Magento-based e-commerce websites, extensions, and modules to meet business requirements.
- Implement back-end functionality, including server-side scripting, database management, and server optimisation for high-performance e-commerce websites.
- Integrate third-party systems, payment gateways, APIs, and external services to enhance the functionality and usability of our online platform.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, load time issues, and other technical challenges to ensure a fast and reliable online shopping experience.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect customer data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, bugs, and technical problems that may arise on the Magento platform.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketers, and merchandisers, to deliver high-quality solutions that align with business goals.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in e-commerce development and Magento.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
- Undertake any other tasks which can be reasonably expected in relation to the role
Magento Developer Skills
- Relevant IT qualification such as bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent such as Magento 2 certifications
- Excellent knowledge of PHP, MYSQL, Magento 2 and WordPress
- Experienced in developing and enhancing modules for Magento 2
- An understanding of manufacturing industry and ecommerce-based websites
- Clear documentation of own code promoting best practices
- Experience in using latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence desirable
- Proven experience in business and marketing intelligence reporting and design, ideally using tools such as Google Analytics
- Able to work independently and deliver results in a timely manner
- An excellent problem solver
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- Deep understanding of the Hyva Theme, a modern, performance-focused Magento 2 frontend framework. Experience in developing and customisng Hyva-based themes is highly desired.
- Proficiency in building Progressive Web Applications for Magento 2 using tools like Hyva Themes, PWA Studio, and related technologies is a significant advantage
- Strong knowledge of modern front-end technologies and frameworks, including React, Webpack, and GraphQL, is essential for developing a cutting-edge user experience with Hyva
- Familiarity with techniques for optimizing the performance of Hyva-based themes, including lazy loading, code splitting, and responsive design principles
- Proficiency in creating responsive, mobile-first designs and ensuring a consistent user experience across various devices and screen sizes
