Lead Java Developer-Cambridge (Remote)-Up to £75,000

Are you interested in joining a team where sustainability and creating a greener world is core to the nature of the business? Come join my client’s team as a lead developer, working to create geospatial data solutions for the government, utilities, and transportation industries.

With international offices in places like the USA & Australia, they’ve worked hard to maintain the integrity of the team’s greenfield roots and start-up culture. Their large client-base includes names of companies and organisations that you will recognize, and you’ll be working to create geospatial data solutions on a large scale.

But what’s their current team like? They have a nicely sized development team consisting of 40+ developers, testers, product owners, technical authors, UI/UX designers, and machine learning specialists that develop applications for the web, mobile, desktop, and the cloud. The team you’ll be joining creates greenfield solutions for the aeronautical sector.

What’s On Offer:

  • This is tech that promotes sustainability and green solutions to problems we have every day. The nature of the business is low-impact, and they do a carbon offsetting donation to the Woodland Trust and their website is carbon neutral. They make a number of other environmentally friendly efforts that lends to the creation of a better future for everyone.
  • Progression: 44% of the current senior and lead team joined the company as juniors, so there is a clear and proven pathway to progression.
  • Flexible working hours
  • Personal development allowance on top of the standard training, to enhance your skillset
  • Research days and workshops
  • Health and wellbeing events
  • The opportunity to work in a small and close-knit team working on greenfield projects within a well-established company with the benefits of a larger venture
  • company pension, private health insurance, group income protection, buying/selling annual leave, free car parking, easy rail access, cycle to work, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, etc

Does This Sound Like You?

  • Highly proficient in Java-experience in Spring-based applications with Spring Boot, GraphQL, or REST API’s
  • Proficiency in the development of React based applications (using TypeScript)
  • You might have experience with data manipulation and visualisation and handling large and complex data sets, but this isn’t essential.

Remote Working Policy: Occasional visits to Cambridge office (they will cover travel expenses), but the role is primarily remote. You must be based and have the right to work in the UK.
