Overview
Animal Equality is an international organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.
The Full-Stack Developer will have a global outlook and will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing Animal Equality s web-oriented applications and projects around the world. While collaborating closely with colleagues in the organisation s expanding international IT Department, the successful appointee will have demonstrable knowledge in all stages of software development.
Unafraid to spend time within the WordPress hooks system or recompiling SASS multiple times, the individual taking on this important post will be at ease with webpack and composer within neglecting shell scripting or regular expressions.
General Responsibilities:
Develop responsive websites and web applications optimised for mobile and desktop devices.
Maintain and improve existing web-oriented projects regarding functionality, accessibility, and user experience.
Troubleshoot UI and improve its performance accordingly.
Maintain and improve code integrity, organisation, consistency, and performance.
Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
Design overall architecture of Animal Equality s websites.
Perform training and support activities.
Collaborate with developers, designers, and sysadmins. Tailor web solutions to their needs and requirements.
Maintain consistency with the organisation s brand Individual Attributes Required.

Position Requirements:
A minimum of four years of experience in the WordPress ecosystem and highly experienced in PHP and web fundamentals HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Ability to write clean and readable code compliant with existing coding guidelines.
Proficient experience in using advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as, jQuery, Backbone, Angular, React, Vue or similar.
Well-founded experience in setting up, maintaining, and improving front-end toolchains consisting of pre/post-processing, transpiling, linting, and bundling.
Proficient with Git version management, time management, and analytical skills.
Basic knowledge of systems scripting, automation skills and/or protocols (HTTPS,Apache, Cloudflare, Ansible), and data processing would be an appreciated plus.
Ability to work both in international teams and independently.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
High degree of professional ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Salary:
Salary band £35,000-£39,000, depending on experience. This is a remote working opportunity (UK-based candidates only), willing and able to travel once per month to London.
