Engineering Lead (Python)

I’m working alongside an Irish owned startup. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Lead (Python / Flask) to drive the development of our backend systems. As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining scalable web applications and services. You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that our solutions are high-performance, secure, and maintainable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Python-based web applications using Flask.
• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in Python development, with a strong focus on Flask.
• Proven experience leading a team of engineers or developers. 3+ years experience
• Experience with relational databases – PostgreSQL

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud technologies, ideally with AWS
• Experience with front end technologies, React
