About the team

The Global Marketing team is comprised of several core functions spanning Brand, Content and Editorial, SEO and Web, Sales Enablement, eCRM, Social, Insights and Reporting with team members spanning the globe. Within the Global Brand function, a small creative team is responsible for delivering to creative briefs/ requests spanning the Global marketing team as well as other central functions including Global People and Culture, Investor Relations, and Internal Communications teams.

The Global marketing function works in close collaboration with our Regional/ Country marketing teams to deliver marketing campaigns and initiatives spanning B2B and B2C audiences, to amplify awareness and engagement with Hays that ultimately produces meaningful commercial outcomes for the organisation.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced, proactive and passionate Digital Designer who will be working in partnership with colleagues across the Global Marketing team to deliver creative projects to brief. From social graphics to long-form whitepapers, videos to infographs, emails to sales collateral – the creative work is varied within this key role and demands an individual who is equal parts creative and organised! The objective of the role is to create compelling, on-brand creative that reinforces Hays’ positioning as the leader in recruitment and workforce solutions.

The key result areas of this position include:

Ideation & Interpretation

  • Creative and innovative thinking to concept leading creative ideas to support the delivery of brief/project objectives
  • Interpret the creative needs of the project/initiative to engage the desired audience and support the desired action/ outcome of the brief
  • Be an active contributor to the ideation of campaigns, as the subject matter expert in design and a voice of creative excellence within the marketing organisation

Creative Production

  • Manage workflow of creative briefs, adapting to key operational processes established within our Asana platform
  • Design and produce digital assets and marketing materials, including but not limited to, website graphics, social media assets, motion graphics, videos, whitepapers, ebooks, interactive pdfs and email templates
  • Liaise with free-lancers, suppliers, content writers and others to ensure the seamless production and delivery of creative materials/ campaigns
  • Source photography and materials in line with brand guidelines to enhance the quality and relevancy of produced materials
  • Conduct bi-annual creative ‘refresh’ of Global Brand toolkit
  • Video and photographic editing where required

Brand Guardianship

  • Be the subject matter expert on the Hays brand guidelines and visual identity, expertly applying this knowledge and understanding to deliver on-brand materials of the highest quality
  • Maintain our Hays Brand Portal with the latest design assets, images and graphics

Required skills and experience

This role part of a lean team which results in exposure to a great variety of creative work, but also requires and organised self-starter who can take initiative where it is required to improve project outcomes. The key requirements and experience of the position entail:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within the Global Brand Team
  • Relevant qualifications and/or proven experience with the full Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Video editing and post-production experience in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Experience of video production and animation is a bonus
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital, social media, and long-form creative work.
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and graphic design and a love of branding.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex brand guidelines and translate them into compelling visual content.
  • An understanding of digital channels and social media platforms is crucial, in particular how to optimise creative work for the channel/ social media platform in which Hays has a brand presence
  • Experience using Asana or similar project/ workflow management software
