Hi all, Intelligent Resource are recruiting for an APEX developer for an initial 6 month contract. This will be predominately remote with travel to the office (1 a week) based in Gosport.

Role Description

Provide an expert level of APEX product development skills capable of building applications which achieve significant improvements in end user experience and process optimisation. Working as part of a multi location, multi disciplinary team within our Defence account, consisting of APEX developers, eBusiness Suite developers, UI designers, business analysts and testers and also client product owners and contributors. Flexibility to work on one or multiple assigned individual work packages or part of a small development team supporting larger transformation programmes. Member of future APEX Centre of Excellence which will be created to provide solutions across all of our clients. As a member, supporting the development of Oracle APEX applications across multiple products to resolve business issues and improve user experience and utilise new APEX features to further optimise existing products.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical design and development of products using a combination of APEX, PL/SQL, SQL and Javascript
• Liaising with the Senior APEX Developers and UX Designers to translate UX/UI requirements into technical components and advising on technical complexity and viability
• Rapid generation and demonstration of prototypes in consultation with business analysts and UX Designers
• Estimating of product backlog technical components and delivery scope for fixed timeboxes
• Management of own development activity/resource during timeboxes and highlighting potential scope creep and backlog completion issues
• Ensure that developed products are compliant with any agreed design standards and principles
• De-bugging and testing software, code reviews
• Production of technical design collateral
• Identification of opportunities to further enhance APEX products

Essential Skills and Experience

• ?Track record of supporting the technical development of bespoke business applications
• 2+ year experience developing products utilising Oracle APEX
• Product development using Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM
• SQL, PL/SQL, Core Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
• Software configuration management and tools
• Agile issue and development tracking techniques and tools
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Test planning & execution

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Web services, REST API and Enterprise Integration
• Development of APEX products in an eBusiness Suite environment

Senior role has this in addition:

• Track record of developing bespoke business applications in a senior developer role
• Extensive experience developing products utilising Oracle APEX
• Oracle APEX product development to deliver eBusiness Suite enhancements
• Product development using Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM
• Understanding of eBusiness Suite workflows and APIs
• SQL, PL/SQL, Core Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
• Understanding of Oracle eBusiness Suite R12 database structure
• Software configuration management and tools
• Agile issue and development tracking techniques and tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Test management & execution

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Management of small development teams
• Oracle WebLogic Server
• Web services, REST API and Enterprise Integration
• High level knowledge of eBusiness Suite applications in one or more functional areas, preferably HCM
